Saving the Life of a Young Man with Abdominal and Brain Internal Bleeding
The medical team at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Dammam successfully saved the life of a young man who was involved in a serious accident, resulting in internal bleeding in the abdomen and brain.
The emergency department received the injured individual, who was in a hemorrhagic shock and coma due to internal bleeding in the abdomen and brain caused by a severe car accident. Initial first aid measures were performed according to the latest global recommendations in the field of trauma surgery, and CT scans confirmed the presence of internal bleeding in the abdomen and around the brain.
After assessing the patient by the medical and surgical team, Dr. Mohammed Qasim, a consultant in general surgery at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Dammam, urgently performed an exploratory procedure on the abdomen. The bleeding spleen was removed, and the bleeding resulting from a severe grade III liver laceration was controlled. Subsequently, Dr. Issa Abdul Karim, a consultant in neurosurgery, intervened surgically to stop the brain bleeding.
The treatment was continued in the intensive care unit, where vital signs improved. The patient fully regained consciousness and was discharged from the hospital in a healthy condition, ready to resume his normal life.
