After she arrived at the hospital, the necessary medical tests were performed, which showed the presence of a huge, deep tumor at the base of the skull, where a major artery to the brain passes through the tumor. The x-rays also showed pressure on the visual nerve and the oculomotor nerves.
Immediately, the medical team, under the supervision of Dr. Hossam El-Din Metwally, Neurosurgery Consultant, decided to perform urgent microscopic surgery for the patient in order to remove the entire tumor while preserving the brain arteries and removing pressure on the optic nerve and eye nerves.
Thanks to God’s grace and success, the operation was crowned with success, and the patient was placed under observation in intensive care until she regained movement on the right side as well as sight. The patient also regained the ability to move her right eye.
