Successful Tumor Removal Using Robotic Surgery
In alignment with supporting and localizing advanced surgeries through robotic technology, the medical team at the Urology Surgery Department, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Khushaim, successfully performed a robotic surgery to remove a tumor from the kidney of a sixty-year-old patient while preserving the organ.
The case was initially diagnosed by the urology consultant at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Jubail. The patient was then referred to Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Al-Khobar, where the necessary analyses and medical examinations were conducted.
After completing all the required medical preparations, the surgical intervention was carried out using the robotic system. The tumor, measuring 4 cm in size, was precisely removed without any complications. The tumor was located in the middle section of the kidney, close to the renal artery and vein, which increased the risk of having to remove the entire kidney.
The surgery was successful. The patient's vital signs were excellent and stable without any complications. The patient was discharged three days after the procedure in good health and ready to resume his normal life.
It is worth noting that this type of surgery is among the most advanced globally in the field of operations, reflecting Al-Mouwasat Medical Services Company’s commitment to attracting specialized talents and utilizing the latest medical technologies and equipment.
