Saving a patient from complete paralysis at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Dammam
The medical team at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Dammam succeeded in saving a patient from complete paralysis who was suffering from severe back pain and could not move without a wheelchair.
Immediately upon the patient’s arrival at the hospital, Dr. Fadi Farouk consultant spine surgeon, performed an MRI and CT scan of the lumbar vertebrae, which showed that the patient was suffering from severe inflammation of the vertebrae with a fracture of the spine. He then decided on minimally invasive surgery to reattach the spine and clean up the infection.
The patient was able to recover completely and was able to return to his normal life, after he was unable to walk without a wheelchair.
