Modern medical technologies contribute to saving a patient's leg from amputation by Al- Mouwasat Al Khobar
Thanks to God, the vascular surgery team at Mouwasat Hospital in Al-Khobar was able to save a patient's leg from amputation due to a blockage in the blood supply to the limb.
The patient came to the clinic of Dr. Christian Gerges, a consultant vascular surgeon at Mouwasat Hospital in Al-Khobar, suffering from severe pain in the leg with a change in the color of the fingers, which became black in color as a result of a severe lack of blood. By examining the patient and performing the necessary x-rays, it was found that there was a complete blockage of the main artery of the leg.
Immediately, the decision was made to perform a therapeutic catheter, which opened the main artery completely and restored the perfusion of the leg, as it returned to normal after hours of catheterization. The patient was discharged from the hospital the next day to practice his life normally.
It is worth noting that this type of operation depends on modern medical technology, which is in line with the vision of Al-Mouwasat Medical Services Company in attracting competencies and accurate sub-specialties through the use of the latest technologies and advanced medical equipment in this field.
