Aiding a Couple to Fulfill Their Dreams
The Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Treatment Unit at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Dammam succeeded in fulfilling the dream of a couple who had been struggling with infertility for ten years, experiencing several failed attempts of in vitro fertilization (IVF).
After visiting the hospital, Dr. Wadha Mahawish, the head of the unit, examined the couple and conducted the necessary tests and imaging, which revealed the absence of sperm in the husband's semen.
Dr. Wadha devised the treatment plan, which involved extracting sperm from the testicle and freezing it. Then, the IVF procedure was performed, where the wife's eggs were retrieved and injected with the sperm extracted from the husband, followed by the transfer of the fertilized eggs (embryos) into the uterus.
The procedure was successful, and the couple was blessed with twins (a boy and a girl).
