The Minister of Health, Mr. Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jalajel, and his accompanying delegation visited Al-Mowasat Hospital in Dammam today, Wednesday, 11/09/2022 AD. He was received by Mr. Nasser bin Sultan Al-Subaie, CEO of Al-Mowasat Medical Services Company, and Mr. Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al-Saleem, Managing Director of the company.

Where His Excellency and his companions were briefed on the extended care and rehabilitation services building in the Medical Tower No. (2) in Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Dammam, the intensive care departments, the dialysis center, and the central command and control center (Tele ICU). The team also listened to a brief presentation about the company’s development, its future projects, and the services provided. In the building

It was designed by a French company specialized in the field of establishing rehabilitation and long-term care centers. The design took into account the ease of movement of patients and employees through the availability of a sufficient number of elevators, spacious lobbies and waiting areas that ensure the comfort of patients and companions, in addition to the availability of green spaces and buildings estimated at an area of 54,000 square feet. m and private and independent rooms equipped with the latest medical equipment, characterized by being permeable to daylight in addition to special systems that ensure air quality and purification. Extended care and rehabilitation services meet the medical needs of people with chronic diseases or disabilities who cannot receive the necessary care in their homes.

It is worth noting that the building includes 200 residence beds, more than 30 intensive care beds, and specialized clinics in caring for the elderly and children with needs for this service. The services provided include rehabilitation of stroke diseases and injuries, rehabilitation of neurological injuries, including treatment of multiple sclerosis, and treatment of Parkinson’s paralysis. (Parkinson's disease), treatment of all nerve infections and injuries, rehabilitation of diseases and injuries of the spine, rehabilitation of heart and lung diseases, rehabilitation of children, which includes / treatment of cerebral palsy or cerebral atrophy, treatment of Down syndrome, treatment of developmental deficiency, treatment of damage resulting from autism, Spinal cord diseases and injuries, rehabilitation of bone and muscle diseases and injuries, which include / treatment of inflammation of the ligaments and tendons, treatment of muscle tears, treatment of fracture injuries, treatment of osteoporosis, rehabilitation of all injuries after spinal operations, rehabilitation of all injuries after tendon and ligament repair operations, rehabilitation All injuries after artificial joint implantation and fracture stabilization operations. The building includes the latest rehabilitation medical devices and equipment that help the patient reduce the rate of pain and return to functional life more easily under the management of qualified medical, technical and administrative staff specialized in the field of rehabilitation with high experience to provide quality service. Riyadh – Mouwasat Hospital 

Mouwasat Hospital in Riyadh received a patient referred from another hospital in the city who was suffering from rectal bleeding and a suspected bowel obstruction caused by an advanced cancerous tumor located in the upper rectum. Following an urgent assessment, the patient was admitted for the necessary laboratory tests and imaging studies. 

Evaluation of the Rectal Tumor 

A coordinated evaluation was conducted between the General Surgery Department and the Oncology Department to determine the optimal treatment plan. After reviewing the diagnostic results, the medical team decided to proceed with a surgical intervention led by: Dr. Ahmed Abdel Fattah Habib – Consultant of General Surgery & Oncology, with the assistance of Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hindawi – Specialist in General Surgery.

The patient was then prepared for a precise laparoscopic surgical procedure targeting the affected section of the colon and rectum. 

Laparoscopic Resection of the Rectal Tumor 

The entire procedure was performed using advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques and included:
