Saving the Life of a Woman with a Rare Giant Fetal Cyst at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Riyadh
Through the efforts of the medical team at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Riyadh, a life was saved. The patient was a woman in her thirties who was not married. She had been suffering from chronic pelvic pain and severe pain attacks, which had been diagnosed outside the hospital as pancreatitis.
Upon her arrival at the Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic, Dr. Ahmed Hassan Khedr, a consultant in Obstetrics and Laparoscopic Surgery, examined her and conducted the necessary medical tests. It was discovered that she had a rare giant fetal cyst measuring 25 x 20 cm, along with the torsion of the right ovary, one of the largest fetal cysts known to reach this size.
After preparing the patient, she underwent a precise surgical procedure during which the fetal cyst was successfully removed, and the twisted ovary was restored to its normal position while preserving it.
The surgery was a success, and the patient was discharged from the hospital in excellent health, ready to continue her life as usual.
It's important to mention that these types of surgeries rely on modern medical technology and highly trained medical staff. This approach aligns with Al-Mouwasat Medical Services Company's vision of attracting specialized expertise through the use of advanced medical techniques and equipment in this field.
