Rescuing a girl who was suffering from scoliosis in Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Riyadh
Praise be to God, the operation of repairing and adjusting a deviation and scoliosis in the spine of a 14-year-old girl was performed for the first time at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Riyadh under the supervision of Dr.
The patient was received in the outpatient clinic, and she complained of persistent back pain with a clear deformity in the back, and one shoulder was elevated above the other.
After doing the necessary x-rays, it was found that the patient suffers from a congenital deformity in the shape of the spine in the form of an S-shaped warp in the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae.
After discussing the case with the medical team, the scoliosis repair surgery was performed by fixing the vertebrae with stents and screws under general anesthesia for the girl with no medical complications.
The patient was followed up for 3 days in the hospital until her discharge in good health, where the warp was repaired and the shoulders were straightened, with no weakness in the limbs.
The success of performing this surgery, which is one of the complex and dangerous surgeries of the spine at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Riyadh, would not have happened without the availability of the facilities in the hospital and the availability of the medical competence of the medical team and the use of the latest medical findings in the necessary means and tools for treatment.
