Ending the suffering of a thirty-year-old woman from a tumor in the upper abdomen at Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah
By the grace of God and His grace, the general surgery team at Al-Mouwasat Hospital in Madinah was able to end the suffering of a woman in her early thirties who was suffering from severe upper abdominal pain.
The patient came to the clinic of Dr. Ahmed Al-Husseini, consultant of general and endoscopic surgery, examined her and took the necessary x-rays. It was found that there was a tumor weighing approximately four kilograms, located at the end of the duodenum, pressing on the pancreas and blood vessels in the abdomen.
Immediately, the doctor decided to perform an urgent surgery to remove the tumor, and after the patient’s consent and preparation for the operation, the medical team for surgery under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed radically removed the tumor while preserving the pancreas. The challenge during the operation was to remove the tumor in a sufficient safe area while preserving the blood supply to the intestine.
Then the patient was transferred to a private room under observation for recovery, and then she was discharged from the hospital to go about her daily life as normal.
